The truth about Bellscoin and “OG Memecoins”

Bro, I said it is old

It was the best of times it was the worst of times. The market is pumping the market is watching people taking a shit in a cage on pump dot fun. After years of utility shilling and NFT cope, people have finally realized that memetics is the utility. With this realization, there is a marketing operation to attach the word “meme” to anything and see if it pumps. Why not simply rebrand old shitcoins and call them “OG Memecoins”. While the old coins from another simpler time, that even -have their own blockchain- do have a vintage appeal, after some inspection all that glitters is not gold, or more, all bells that ring are not old.

Not the right birthday June 12 2023 is the correct one

There is absolutely nothing wrong with relaunching a dead blockchain. It is, in fact, a testament to the reason that we are here. The stone tablets of blocks of transactions are not lost in time yet. While the surface of the stone tablet might look old, as it has the appearance of such, further inspection can prove that it is indeed not the legendary stone tablet from the ancient times of shitcoinery.

Fake Picassos, INSPECT THE GOODS

Replicas of antiques, collectables and art are nice to look at and often hard to distiuqish from the orginal. The freedom that blockchain technology grants us is the ablilty to verfiy the age of something without the trust of a third party. Of course to truly verfiy and inspect it would require you to run a full node of the chain and not use a block exploreer. However in this case I am going to trust the third party of a block exploerer and simple inspection of commentary on social media. Let us inspect the stone tablets of Bellscoin.

Is this old?

When one claims to be “The first Memecoin” then one should be that. Not a relaunch using the same name and codebase, not a replica of something touted as the first ever. The history should be crystal clear, it should be easy to simply reference the history of the chain from 2013 to the present day. This is not possible with what is being called Bellscoin and marketed as the first memecoin ever! The marketing around this coin is all but clear around this question. It is at best a misstep and at worst intentionally deceptive. Combine this with the current ecosystem not being able and or unwilling to use or grasp a “memecoin” having its chain. What is the ticker? What is the contract address? It is not showing up in my phantom wallet. We are not in a time where people are used to asking questions like “Was this an instamine”? In fact, I doubt many know what a premine, instamine, or old-school “fair launch” is.

UPDATE

While the geneis block starts with 0 let us have a closer look
BLOCK 0
BLOCK 1

Here we can see a few yearsy gap between block 0 and block 1, a few years meaning 2013–2023. Where is the vintage history from 2013? No transactions from block 0 untill 2023? This shows the new bellscoin is not the old bellscoin.

You are not alone

Bellscoin is not alone. There are many new old shitcoins coming out on the og meme coin bandwagon. This is fun and interesting to see forgotten relics being reborn. However, as with all vintage items, inspect the goods.

Luckycoin — Looks like blocks started again at block 81744 on Aug 25, 2024, still not clear

Potcoin — unclear

Junkcoin — unclear, looks like block 1 was mined on Nov 1, 2024

Catcoin is still alive with no downtime!

There are more, but this list is not complete. Feel free to reach out here or on X

Conclusion

The current trend of og memecoins is full of claims of being from another time. From being from another age, when in fact they are not. The freedom that blockchain technology has granted us is one of a timestamp. The ability to see what happened in the past. We should use this tool in order to find the truth. Let not your bags blind you to the immutable truth of the stone tablet, the verified tablet, the blockchain.

Post Scriptum

I MIGHT BE WRONG — I am more than willing to discuss any and everything on a voice or video livestream with neutral third party host, I have taken part in hundreds of youtube panels, countless real-life panels and informal discussion, ask around. If one would like to see the references of said panels I am more than willing to reference them as to provide evidence to be reassuring to anyone potentially involved that I do indeed debate in good faith.

Best,
