With people tokenizing tweets and using twitter rails to monetize tweets making more money doing so than most buying twitter ads selling payday loans or male enhancement pills. It is clear that the way forward for monetizing your content is going to have something to do with NFTs. Now, let’s take a journey to the depths of the bitcointalk forum. Back in the dark ages of blockchain the artist Nili had thought of the concept of tokenizing twitter itself. To simply appropriate what has appropriated us in our daily lives, our thoughts, our conversations. To flip the script and be bold enough to simply use the twitter logo and mint the token iTwitter.

The token iTwitter is not simply a tokenized tweet but a whole concept that Nilli has now outlined in a more detailed whitepaper. Up for auction is 1 iTwitter from 2014, a rare vintage piece that gives birth to the concept we know today of tokenizing tweets. The winner of the 1 iTwitter will also get a tokenized tweet via a subasset a token minted from the same address as iTwitter with the name itwitter. (your twitter username). This would then link the 2014 asset iTwitter with a 2021 twitter account and be the first-ever tokenized tweet from this vintage blockchain art token. Lot 1 — JIHAN WU PEPE -Inspect- No Reserve

In the 2016–2017 era a lot of discourse was around the block size limit of bitcoin. This was a discussion with many strong opinions, on the one side you had advocates that wanted a fully unlimited blocksize and others that wanted even a smaller blocksize. Jihan Wu was on the side of wanting to raise the block size limit and at the same time part of then the largest bitcoin mining operation Bitmain. In a heated twitter discussion, he told another twitter user “fuck your mother if you want to fuck”. This quote became a meme and to this day is known as peak big blocker. “Covertly boosts your dek while denying all technological upgrades to your opponents when played” this refers to “ASIC BOOST” which is a technology that boosts the effectiveness of bitcoin miners. Bitmain was using this technology secretly and bought a license for the technology so that nobody else could use it (very simplified historical summary). While this might sound like some backroom deal shadiness it is par for the course for mining operations and is actually what keeps bitcoin strong. Miners have an incentive to be better than other miners by almost any means necessary. In any case, this card documents both the historical blocksize debate, asicboost, and in a way is a tokenized tweet as the main quote comes from the most epic tweet of the blocksize debate era. This auction is rich with history, fine art, and rare vintage collectibles. In fact, it is overflowing with a lot of the risk-taking that made NFT what it is today. You have to put it in perspective when you look at these NFTs. There was no NFT boom, hype, or anything of the sort, it was almost the opposite. Nobody believed in blockchain art, blockchain collectibles, well almost nobody. It was dismissed as absurd, shitcoinery, blockchain bloat, and a waste of time. There were no mega sales, no hype train, no clubhouse, none of that. These are documents of that time when people created these artworks that still today incite emotion and help us not forget critical moments of the past while at the same time these documents have become timeless.
